Dr. Vera Lafosse is a board-certified family medicine physician specializing in family medicine and osteopathic manipulative treatment. She is currently serving patients at Southeast Medical Group in Stockbridge.
Dr. Lafosse was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Miami. She completed both her Health Sciences Post-Baccalaureate Program and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She went on to complete her residency in family medicine and osteopathic manipulative treatment at Augusta University/Georgia Regents University – Medical College of Georgia.
Her professional accolades include authorship in The 5-Minute Clinical Consult (2014 Edition) and recognition on the Dean’s List at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has also served as a dedicated preceptor to numerous medical students throughout her career. Dr. LaFosse is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), Georgia Osteopathic Medical Association, Georgia Academy of Family Physicians (GAFP), American Osteopathic Association (AOA), American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP), Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM), and Doctors United for Haiti (DUFH).
Dr. Lafosse is committed to providing cultural preventive care and has a strong clinical focus on managing chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol, as well as performing joint injections. She also conducts simple skin tag removals except in cosmetic areas, such as the face. She is fluent in Haitian Creole and welcomes patients aged 18 and older.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Lafosse enjoys golfing, baking, cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with her husband and children.
