Dr. Makinde was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and raised in the United Kingdom. Dr. Makinde earned her MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) from the University of Birmingham in England before completing her studies at Queen's University in Canada.
