Dr. John S. Antalis Contributes to Physician Reentry in Washington, DC Workgroup

Dr. John Antalis, a five-time Board Certified Family Physician currently building Dalton Primary Care based on true patient care with Southeast Medical Group, recently participated in a Federation of State Medical Boards Workgroup for Physician Reentry representing Georgia in Washington, DC.

This meeting, which had representatives from Massachusetts to Guam, was a continuation of two previous meetings. The select workgroup had worked to increase the number of physicians in Georgia and the United States by developing rules to allow physicians to return to active practice.

Dr. Antalis believes though Physician Assistants and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners give much needed care to patients, it should be a team approach and having more physicians leading the team only improves the quality of care to patients.

Dr. Antalis is very appreciative of his knowledge and experience he has learned over these years to use it in a way to help Dalton patients in both patient care and medical policies that hopefully will increase physician and physician assistant access. The report will be available later this year.
