Welcome to the Southeast Medical Group Physician Spotlight, where we highlight our incredible physicians! September's spotlight features Dr. Rani Reddy, MD, lead physician at Southeast Medical Group's Statesboro and Metter clinics.
Dr. Reddy, a board-certified internal medicine physician, earned her medical degree at Osmania Medical College, formerly The Hyderabad Medical School, a medical college in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. She completed her medical training and internal medicine residency at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
She is a current member of several professional physician associations, including the American College of Physicians (ACP), the Medical Association of Georgia (MAG), the Ogeechee River Medical Society, the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) and the Georgia Association of Physicians of Indian Heritage (GAPI).
Dr. Reddy has been seeing patients at her clinics in Statesboro and Metter for over 25 years, serving the communities of Southeast Georgia with pride. Dr. Reddy formally joined Southeast Medical Group in early 2022, becoming the first practice owner outside of the Metro Atlanta area to join the group. Upon the merger, her practice, Candler Internal Medicine, was rebranded to Southeast Medical Group at Statesboro and Southeast Medical Group at Metter.
Over two years later, Dr. Reddy reflects on her time spent alongside the largest independent primary care group in the southeast. She says, "they were very inviting and respectful of our profession. I just felt a connection and I felt that we would make a good team." When asked about how she felt about becoming a part of Southeast Medical Group, she said, "I am so proud to be part of Southeast Medical Group. It has been a great journey so far, and I am very enthusiastic about the future! I would love to continue this relationship and I really enjoy my work now."
Dr. Reddy's medical interests include weight loss management and the treatment and prevention of chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. Dr. Reddy is accepting new patients ages 14 and older, and her fellow practitioners in Statesboro welcome patients of any age.
